MP3 Audio Books
64MP3 - An Audio Format For More Than Just Music
MP3 is a very popular format to store audio. It has the advantage of being very compact and still retaining good quality sound. Also MP3 allows compression to be variable, depending on the final quality of the sound that is needed.
I.e. if there is only spoken audio for a file, it can be compressed a bit more and will still be perfectly OK to listen to. If the audio file contains classical music with much detail and lots of peaks and very deep bass, then obviously the dynamics of the sound need to be maintained and less compression is possible.
As the Title says, MP3 wich was made popular by music and songs everybody laoded on their MP3 players, can also be used to store books! Many reputed publishers of printed books have realized, that there is a very fast growing market for audio books. So they start to record all of their bestsellers and books that sold reasonably well and publish them.
Soem years back, buying an audio book meant buying a CD, even earlier it meant buying a box full of cassettes.... Today all this is very different:
When you buy an audio book you buy a downloadable file that can then be burned on CD if you want to listen to in in a conventional audio system in your car or home, or you download it to your MP3 player and listen to it that way.
Thsi si much more convenient than a few years back!
